Bring dead bait to life with the Reaper Rig, a purpose-built trolling system designed to create a smooth, natural swimming action while keeping your bait stable in the water. Developed and tested by Australian anglers, it is designed for targeting hard-hitting pelagic species including tuna, mackerel, kingfish and other offshore predators.
Designed for medium-sized dead baits from 15–25 cm (6–10 in), the Reaper Rig uses its distinctive stainless steel scythe system to securely hold the bait in position. This helps prevent unwanted spinning while producing a consistent, lifelike presentation behind the boat.
The rig is designed to be quick and simple to re-bait, allowing anglers to replace bait and get the lure back into the trolling spread with minimal downtime. An optimal trolling speed of approximately 3–5 knots makes it suitable for use from boats, kayaks and jet skis.
Built around a durable aluminium head and stainless steel components, the Reaper Rig comes ready to fish with a 60 lb multi-strand stainless steel wire trace and twin Size 2 treble hooks, including a rear stinger configuration.
